In 1960, Ken and his brother, Lorin, opened Daniels Pastries in Oklahoma City, baking pies and sweet rolls, delivering them to restaurants the next morning. Two years later, after his brother left the business, Ken changed the name to Ken's Bakery. In the 1970's, Ken began servicing local in-store bakery chains and restaurants, then expanded to service accounts nationally. Some years later, a major restaurant chain contacted Ken and asked him to formulate a cobbler for their restaurants. This began Ken's ever growing production of cobblers. Today, Ken's produces a full line of desserts, ranging from pies, cakes and cookies to loaves, brownies and dry mixes!
The Daniels family has been baking in Oklahoma City for 80 years. In 1927, Ken's father, "Dan" Daniels owned a bakery in downtown Oklahoma City. Laura Daniels, Ken's daughter, is Director of Sales and is quite involved with the Made In Oklahoma Coalition, serving as co-chair of the Food Service Committee.
Ken's Bakery has a history of adapting to an ever-changing market through research and product development. Ken's takes all customer requests and works with them to produce a high quality product. Larry Kremer, Ken's General Manager says "anything is possible... we can make it happen!" Per a customer request, Ken's developed a full line of pastries for fundraisers. Ken's products can now be found in the retail market due to the numerous requests from individuals. A "can and will do" spirit has established Ken's reputation for excellent customer service and high quality products.
